GENERAL CARE

Our furniture is supplied in a lacquered, satin finish for ease of maintenance. The timber has been sealed so does not require “feeding.”Clean regularly with a soft cloth dampened with mild detergent or warm soapy water. Dry with a soft cloth.Do not expose the furniture to prolonged humidity or direct heat. Do not use polish, oil or abrasive cleaners on the furniture other than our recommended citronella based spray. For the first month, don’t place heavy objects, such as a vase, on the surface until it has fully cured. Over time, avoid allowing objects to remain too long in the same place as this could lead to discolouration. Avoid exposing the furniture to major changes in temperature and humidity. Leaving a bowl of water in the room if leaving the house for a prolonged period will be beneficial. We do now have available a product care application available from our Workshop Showroom.

DRAWERS

Every year or so run a little candle wax across your drawer sides and runners (bottom edge of the drawer sides. Simply put, this lubricates the running parts! Seasonal changes and high humidity may very occasionally cause your bedroom drawers to stick. Simply remove them and place them in a warm, dry room for a couple of days and the swelling in the timber caused by the humidity will reduce.

BED MAINTENANCE

Our mattresses are made with a single side top and do not require “flipping.” Every six months or so, rotate the mattress end for end to ensure even wear and if you have a removable top, you may unzip the top overlay for airing outside in the sun. Every 18 months or so check the slats. 85% of the work is done by the slats that support the shoulders to the hips. (about the 4th to the 9th from the head) If these slats have flattened at all, then simply remove them by pulling them upwards at the side rail and rotate them with the slats at the very head or end of the bed. Remember, of course, the curve is upwards! If you require any replacement shoes or slats, these are readily available.
